Wild played a good game on Wednesday but so did the blues... Nothing in that game convinced me that the Blues are going to all of a sudden tuck tail and wait for game 7 before they make a stand.

After watching some of the games in the East, this series still doesn't seem much like playoff hockey. Aside from game one, neither team to me looks like they are playing for their playoff lives.

Watching the Boston/Ottawa game last night, the intensity and hunger just looks so much more prevalent.

Well hope the Wild can win another one today. Personally I don't care for matinee playoff hockey.... Wild don't ever seem to play well in the daytime...

Pretty much all of the series in the East have been more entertaining than Central division series.

And yes, frank NBC.

Stop booing every single play. I sincerely hope Staal is okay, but he tried to split two defensemen, got tangle up, and fell. Happens all the time. Do you guys know anything about hockey?

Lived in St. Louis for 23 years, douchecanoe. Pretty obvious that no one in the "state of hockey" knows anything about hockey though.

I live in Minnesota, the wild fans should know better. Perhaps they are trying to apply high school hockey rules.

It's not like the Wild were going to win the game anyway, but that was a good f#@king goal!

If they're going to call nonsense, then they have to call everything. Steen got slashed before the goal; should've negated the powerplay.

Actually, Wild are the only fans I've ever heard former players consistently criticizing for their lack of hockey knowledge.

Doh k like you have a big enough sample size of 'former players' that criticize Minnesota fans about their hockey knowledge to make any kind of statement about it.

A lot of people were calling a Chicago / Minnesota WCF. Gotta tip your cap to the Blues and Preds.

One can only hope before the massive deals are given out to Nino and Granlund! And no Dean Lombardi is not the answer here.

Yep. Chucky had his time. Probably need to dump a big contract too. Should contact vegas and trade sutter or parise. Then get younger.

Parise and Suter have full No Move Clauses in their contracts, so they won't be going anywhere. Pominville can be traded though, he has a modified NMC (he submits a list of 10 teams he can't be traded to). His cap hit is $5.6 million in each of the next two seasons. He has to be the first to go.

Pretty big disappointment to say the least. Coming off a franchise best season only to skid and lose in the first round to an inferior team.

And the fact they don't bother showing up til the 3rd period in an elimination game.

Sure we can argue pretty much all but one game should have ended with the wild on top but what's the point? Woulda shoulda coulda...

Blahs will be destroyed by Smushville, and I won't be able to enjoy that because I hate the sex predators even more than the blahs.

Can't wait to see what happens this off season

Inferior team?

In the last 8 anyway. So last year last 4 and this year already one down.

Don't take it personal Blu, based on the season as a whole, the Wild were the better team. In this series clearly the Blues did what was required to win thus making them the better team in the post season series.

For obvious reasons this Wild club was heavily favored to win this series. They are the deeper team and came into the post season with the 2nd best offense in the league despite only averaging less than 2 goals a game over the last 4 weeks of the season.

and yes, the Blues were the hottest team coming into the post season. Can't dispute it, but in this series I think it's fair to say the Blues were out played(at least on paper), just not outscored. Which sounds pretty dumb considering the Wild lost 4 of 5 games, but is arguable nonetheless.

I agree with Gump. Wild had a better regular season (record breaking), better team and better coach. In the series the Wild probably had the better of most stats except the one that counts and that's goals. However it's not stats and paper that wins a playoff series its determination and intangibles. Just like Nashville the Blues were hungrier and more determined. One could argue that both Chicago and Minnesota were buoyed too much by their regular season success
